Various Laws
- Vampirism is entirely forbidden within the nation of Everia. Should a vampire be found, or any citizen harboring a fugitive vampire, they shall be slain with silver and their body doused in holy water.
- Dragons, trained, raised, wild, or otherwise, are completely forbidden, and will be hunted to the fullest extent and capabilities of the Order of Raksha. Any citizen harboring a dragon, aiding a dragon while fully capable, or any other such treason for assisting a dragon further its nightmarish regime, will be slain alongside their draconic counterpart. In the year 1160, Archmage Sanddrake has ruled that dragonborn are exempt from this law, and are no longer allowed to be hunted nor exiled merely for their heritage.
- Magic will be used for the people, by the people. Offensive and destructive magics will only be used against the kingdom's enemies. Necromancy will never be acted upon, regardless of circumstance, else the perpetrator be slain to join his minions. Transfiguration magic will not be allowed to exceed changing basic appearance. If transfiguration magic is used to aid a criminal escape, the law will be brought upon both the mage and the convict. Magic will not be used to hex, charm, transfigure, bewilder, harm, injure, slay, or any other such effect any citizen of Everia, else they be willing before the spell is cast.
- Any mage who has casted an enchantment upon any citizen, and the citizen has not been injured by said enchantment, but still wishes to seek justice, may do so without question.
- Half-orcs as well as any other half or full goblinoids will be exempt from any mandatory public education, they have been deemed a distraction as well as too unruly for the public environment. They may obviously seek to gain an education in their own time, but the children of goblinoids are exempt from any mandatory education laws. A goblinoid may participate in the education system, so long as they pay the proper fees at a school that will properly accept the goblinoid students, and abide by said school's rules and regulations.
- Goblinoids, as well as their children and relative are allowed to vote in any sort of voting event, however, a goblinoid must identify as such on their ballot, as their vote only counts as half a person, due to the Rorak vs. Ocular debate from 1136
- The Ocular may choose to imprison any citizen under suspicion for up to one year, if no evidence is found regarding that citizen as a criminal, they will be released and exempt from this law for no longer than three months.
- Witches are completely forbidden in Everia due to the carrying motion of Castiel vs. Ocular from 1184. This law has been revised by Queen Rosette. Witches, so long as they abide by all rules of magic, are to be watched, but not slain without valid reason.
- Magical beasts will not be mounted by any citizen lest they be charged a heavy fine (4,000 gold pieces per head) and have the beast slain on the spot, unless the Ocular or a certified Ocular mounting lodge has granted the rider proper licensing and training for the beast's care and proper handling.
- Any church or chapel without proper licensing or zoning permits will be allowed one full year to obtain said permits before being shut down until the permits are achieved.
- Meddling with and of demons will be handled by the churches of Lilliah, Sol, and Kesi depending on the breed of demon, as well as the type of haunting it is currently attempting upon the citizen(s). Any intervention without permission is sincerely frowned upon, but liable to no legal action.
- Lycanthropes, such as werewolves, wererats, werebears, etc. are forbidden from entering a fief's boundaries without prior permission. Permission can be revoked at any time, and the Lycanthropes must be given notice. If they have not vacated within a week, the fief is allowed to do with them as they see fit. Lycanthropes require secondary permission if they wish to enter any town or city under the fief's control. The same rules apply.
- Any laws regarding magical creatures, magical vermin, oversized vermin, draconic beings, or any other such beast or creature, shall be addressed by individual guilds of Raksha. Only guilds granted a certificate of authenticity from the Ocular may be allowed to pass these laws, but once certified, they may punish wrong-doers as they see fit.
- Mages must register a creture as their familiar if attempting to enter any town under jurisdiction of the Ocular. The mage must keep his or her paperwork with his or herself at all times, else his or her familiar will be subject to imprisonment until the mage can locate their appropriate paperwork. The familiar in question will be subject to a test from either a member of the Ocular, or any other member of an Ocular-based guild that has been approved, to prove if it is indeed a magical companion to a mage.
